One of my many roles at Eastern Engineering is Software Support for our cloud-based construction management web application, eComm. It is something that we take very seriously. Our eComm customer support is what I believe truly separates us from companies like Procore, Assignar, and Buildtrend. Fast response with a local team. We are invested in all of our customer’s projects because we live in the very same communities where they live.
I view our eComm as living organism. It is constantly evolving to better fill the needs of our customers and to make their day to day at the jobsite or workplace easier.

Construction Project Challenges
Growing up my father always told me that if human hands work on it then it is bound to go wrong at some point. Because things can go wrong, we make sure there are no long hold times, waiting on a chatbot to connect you to a service rep overseas, or waiting days for an email response. You will get to know our team on a first-name basis and they will work with you through the duration of your project.
We understand that a Construction project can sometimes change from minute to minute. As a construction project manager or engineer, your time is valuable. That is why our customers have direct access to our Support Team. Our goal is to be able to respond and fix it immediately. Although, sometimes an issue can take longer than just a few minutes to fix. We will maintain constant communication throughout the entire resolution process and be hand-in-hand with you to the end.

Submittals, Closeouts, RFIs, PCOs, Change Orders… eComm is always growing!
Another part of our eComm customer support team’s role is to help with new features. With direct input from customers, we bridge the gap and communicate their needs to our development team. The development team will then fine-tune eComm and create these exciting new tools. A great example of this process was the creation of Prime Contracts and Change Management. Prime Contracts was developed from direct customer input and has cut the change management process in half. We now create the change order item, and cover page and create a PDF that includes all documents that caused the change. In addition, eComm will obtain digital signatures from all designated parties. Now, eComm manages day-to-day items like submittals and RFIs and also handles Change Orders and Allowance Authorizations. Because of the input from customers, we have many more exciting developments that will be rolling out over the next year. Stay Tuned!
